Good morning from NC,
Hope everyone has had a good week welcoming in the new year. It was a quiet week here. I did work on a KU basketball puzzle my brother sent me.
I am working on putting the house back together after putting all of Christmas stuff up.
Mark, Rachel, and the boys left the 31st and flew to Cancun where they celebrated his birthday and returned Sunday.
School started back today so the traffic will be back to busy. It was nice to have a break from that as well.
Hailey will head back to school on Sunday.
Point of history- when you use your kitchen dishwasher you can thank Josephine Cochran from Illinois. She invented what would become the dishwasher after frustration of her fine china being broken when washed by hand. She displayed her invention at the Chicago World’s Fair in 1893, and her machine earned the highest prize for “best mechanical construction, durability and adaptation to its line of work.” After her death in 1913 her company eventually merged into what became KitchenAid
Have a blessed week,
Gatha
Good morning from Chilly Basehor. Cloudy and 43 degrees. Suppose to warm up this week a bit the roller coaster back down. It will be a good week to take outside decor down. Yes I still have Christmas up!
New Years Eve I was at Tim and Lisa’s where we had a shrimp boil and played Tripoly and some poker. Lots of fun.
Friday Stephanie and Jullian came for a suprise visit. We went after Christmas/ New Year Shopping and late lunch early dinner.
So much fun.
Saturday I went to Tim and Lisa’s to take down Christmas decorations! Got it done in a good amount of time. We went to Michael’s to get some glue to glue a puzzle together that they wanted to keep. We worked on another puzzle got a good head start to it. They have a nice high top table downstairs that’s perfect for puzzle working. I don’t have to hunch over looking for those small pieces! After a wonderful dinner I went home!
I thought about starting to take Christmas decorations down but decided to catch up on a few shows and watch the final Chiefs game of this season. Look forward to KU basketball and then Baseball as the seasons change!
Hope you all have a great Blessed week!
Love, prayers and Big Hugs!
Michaela

Thank you Josephine Cochran! I remember when we got our first dishwasher in Shawnee. Had to roll it over to the sink and hook it up to the faucet. We only had enough room for our plates, glasses, silverware and a few serving bowls. Still had to wash the pots and pans. We alternated night for doing the dishes. If we forgot to soak the mash potato pan right after they were put in the serving bowl there would be a loud groan!
I saw a dishwasher tip recently. If your soap is one of those plastic wrapped pods don’t put it in the soap dispenser. Use vinegar instead of jet dry. Put a kitchen towel end hanging over the door when running to help absorb the steam! I’ll give that a try. I already figured out the pod not in the soap door.
We drove up to Savannah for NYE. Dennis and I played golf at the Westin golf and spa club on Wednesday. Beautiful weather after starting out a little chilly. Yasmin and her 4
Boys and Maddie, Luis and their two girls met us on NYE. We hung out in the lobby and played some cards and heads up. They had a pool table and foosball table. We shot off some confetti poppers and the dogs played. We walked around Bull street and the river front. Had lunch and headed home. Nice start to the New Year.
Happy birthday Ethan, Dean, [Joanna], and Deanna this week. Love you all. Prayers for healing grace and joyful blessings.
PJ
