Good morning from NC.
We have enjoyed lower temperatures and more colorful leaves.
My brother Mike & wife Lisa came for a few days. It was their first time here and we enjoyed hanging out with them and taking them around to see the area.
We went to 1 of Mackenzie’s 2 band competitions on Saturday. They did very well at both competitions.
Bailey has started her new season of dance. She won an award and will be a choreographer assistant for all the company’s conventions next year. Sounds like a great experience for her.
Lindsey, thank you for keeping us updated on Courtney!
Have a blessed week,
Love,
Gatha
Good morning from damp and chilly Kansas. Fall has arrived, straight from Hot Summer to cold weather. The leaves have barely started to change, not a pretty fall foliage year.
Exciting news that Mariela has arrived and is of course beautiful. I think that is all of the babies for a while. That I know of. I face timed with Cierra and Jordan yesterday, they are all doing good. She should be going home today.
I had a busy week as usual. I babysat Jullian on Tuesday and Wednesday. Mowed the yard, bought and had installed a new washing machine, and put together new stools for my island. Saturday I went to Lisa’s and organized and cleaned her laundry room. It looked great when I left. I guess I like to do that kind of thing.
Hope You all have a Blessed Week. Praying for healing for everyone.
Love, prayers and Big Hugs,
Michaela

Kala I always have a need for organizing or cleaning out! Tim and Lisa are lucky to have you. Mariela is a doll baby! Truly. I’m sure Cierra is excited to be home with her new bundle of joy.
Madeline and Luis were here last week. They came earlier than planned to check on his grandmother in the hospital. She still has back pain but seems to have recovered from the possible stroke. The family has not agreed on where she and grandpa should live yet. Praying for them. We made it to the beach one day. Perfect temp and the water is still warm enough. It was a strange color I’m thinking from all the off shore hurricanes. It looked like tea. Clear but a greenish brown. We celebrated Madeline’s birthday a little each day. Luis’s brother’s girl friend’s family has a farm west of Deland. We drove out there and walked around while the dogs ran. Copper was feeling brave around the horses. Ollie managed to cover herself in cow pies and had to have a hose shower. Their home is a log home filled with hunting taxidermy. So cool. They built an additional two bdrm and bath and used barn wood from Kentucky. All the ceilings were corrugated metal. Quite the retreat. They had cattle and all the neighboring farms let everyone graze where ever the best grass is growing. Maddie’s dream home. I told her I’d do all the chores for her. They left Saturday at 1AM so they could get back in time to pick up her car that was having some recalls fixed.
My Sorento has been going into limp mode, won’t shift out of 1st and won’t go over 38 MPH. It was at the dealer for 2 weeks without a diagnosis. Funny that I can find the problem on the internet but if it doesn’t happen when they drive it they can’t fix it. Unfortunately my KIA app shows me when and where it’s being driven. It wasn’t driven much just around town. I’m hoping they did a software update and maybe that will take care of it…I called KIA corporate and opened a case on it.
Dennis finishes training this week and will be on his own next week. He’s ready.
My headaches are less frequent. Every other day instead of every day! Thank you for your prayers.
Love and healing prayers,
PJ
This photo was taken just minutes ago—and wow, what a difference. After several incredibly tough days, seeing her like this feels like a breath of fresh air. She looks like a whole new Courtney.
Two days ago, she had a feeding tube placed in her stomach. While she’s able to swallow thick liquids and pudding by mouth, it’s not enough to meet her nutritional needs, so the tube is essential for now. They were planning to place a speaking valve today, though I’m not sure yet if that happened. Adrian said he’d call after their walk around the hospital—it’s finally sunny here, which feels like a little gift in itself.
She’s dressed. She’s smiling. And that smile has been rare lately, so it’s a big deal. The plan is still for her to go home tomorrow, with home health support while she has the trach. We’re not sure yet what that will look like day-to-day, but we’ll figure it out.
Raegan had her gallbladder removed yesterday and everything went smoothly. She’s just dealing with some post-op gas pain, but otherwise doing well.
It’s been a whirlwind juggling both Court and Rae, but I’m holding it down. All good—I’ve got this.
Courtney is deeply grateful for every prayer, donation, kind message, and check-in. Your love is felt and appreciated more than you know.
I’ll keep the updates coming.
Sending hugs and love to you all 💛
Lindsey,
Thank you so much for this wonderful update! Sunshine and hoping to go home will surely bring a smile.
Prayers going up every day!!
