Good Morning from cold NC.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Hailey came home Tuesday and is driving back to school today. She worked every day but Thursday, so there were sightings of her in between work.
Wednesday, we hung out with Mark, Rachel, her mother, and the boys. Mark fixed a nice lunch, and we played 5 crowns
Thursday, we hung out with Brian and family. We had a nice laid-back day and played 5 crowns…I did win one game 😊. I finished my 3rd Christmas puzzle. I will start my advent calendar puzzle today. You do one small section of the puzzle each day and it will be completed on Christmas day.
Saturday, I finished my Christmas cards.
Sunday, church, lunch, and home to stay warm and watch football. We enjoyed the Panther’s upset win over the Rams.
Luke 2:10: “And the angel said unto them, ‘Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.'”
Have a blessed week,
Love,
Gatha
Good morning from snowy cold Basehor!
As if on cue December 1 brings in our first winter snow!
My weekend was chalked full. Wednesday in preparation for Thanksgiving I peeled 8 pounds of potatoes and sweet potatoes, and made the famous green rice. I then went to Tim’s to help make brine for the turkeys and make a Carmel apple pie from scratch and help prep for thanksgiving.
Thursday I cooked my potatoes and green rice and went to Tim and Lisa’s for the day! Dinner was delicious, Tim fried a turkey and Lisa baked one in the oven. After dinner, we watch the Chiefs game that was exciting, until it wasn’t. I worked on a puzzle.
Friday I was back at Tim’s to decorate for Christmas. It took all day! But it’s beautiful. I drove home in an ice storm. Made it ok.
Saturday I stayed home and put up my village. It was the last thing to do, now I am done.
Sunday Lisa and I went to the At Home store. Christmas decorations were pretty sparse. They were setting out their Spring stuff.
We went to eat Mexican for an early dinner. Went to Lisa’s
On to the rest of the traditions cards, baking, shopping, wrapping…..
Praying for Charlie, Kelly, Tim and Maureen Jones, and everyone.
Love, prayers and Big hugs!
Michaela
The joy of the Lord is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10
Now that is a snow fall! Wow! We had a great time at Madeline and Luis’s. All the pups loved playing. Stevie Jo keeps us smiling. Growing so fast.
Luis smoked the turkey and it was so so good. Madeline made everything else. She loves cooking and it shows. Delicious. Played cards, did some shopping in the cute shops in downtown Ball Ground, ate on their school bus restaurant, and of course had a few beers at their brewery. Drove home Saturday thinking I would avoid most of the traffic. Not so lucky.
Came home to Dennis trying to recover from flu/upper respiratory thing. Luckily he took himself to urgent care Saturday and got steroids and antibiotic. I’m enjoying my turn with the sore throat and cough. I need to get rid of it quick.
Glad some of you listened to the Stetson concert. It was an unforgettable experience. We loved singing in Zulu. The Chinese Erhu string instrument was played by a guy that flew in just for the concert. I’m so blessed to be a part of this group. Being around college kids is always enlightening and then there’s the singers from my generation that speak their mind without filters or a mute button. Makes life amusing.
Praying for all our family members. Healing and healthy blessings. Love,
PJ
