Happy National Ground Hog Day.

Another 6 weeks of winter- hoping that is NOT the case!

Happy Birthday:  Cole Feb. 3 / Alyssa Feb. 7 / Stephanie C Feb. 9

Prayer:  Kelly / Courtney / Janolyn/ those affected by these latest storms. Ice in Florida !

Praise; Thankful for no injuries- Patrick, Jami, Adam, when a sheet of ice came off another car and shattered Patrick’s windshield as they were on the way to Gulf Shores

Good morning from wintery NC phase 2,

We were thankful that we did not lose power in last week’s ice event.  We were very fortunate, north of us got more ice than we did.

Brian and Jessica were in Nashville the last week for a conference and got to experience their ice storm.  They got home Friday night in time to get ready for our snowstorm..

Thursday, Dean used a flame thrower type thing to melt the ice off our driveway before the snow came on Saturday.  We were still prepared from the ice storm with water, food, etc.

Saturday – the snow started about 7:00 am and was steady till about midnight.  It was a nice dry fluffy snow, so no power outages in our county.   We got around 7-8 inches.  Charlotte recorded 11”.  All 100 NC counties received some amount of snow on Jan 31. Yep, that included the coastal areas as well.  It was a historic snow for sure.

Sunday, we woke up to a sunny glistening snowy morning…very pretty but cold.  The roads will be a mess for a while, so we streamed church.  In the afternoon, Dean used the tractor to clear the snow off our driveway. We are looking forward to some higher temperatures this week!!

Have a blessed week,

Love,

Gatha

We definitely got lucky, if we were going just a tad slower it would have hit the front of the vehicle and caused more damage and deployed the airbags. It was several feet wide and at least 2” thick. I was driving, and we were in our new Tahoe. Chased down the other driver and made him pull over. The windshield is being replaced this morning, we are at a hotel in Cape Girardeau. We started our drive at 5:45 Thursday morning and arrived in Gulf Shores close to 2:00am on Friday- a normally 15hr drive spread to 21 hrs due to the accident and then the ice/snow covered roads in Mississippi. Some advise for those not familiar- you are responsible for anything that comes off your vehicle- that includes snow and ice. As you can see, we will need a thorough detailing- there’s glass EVERYWHERE!

Hoping Safelite comes sooner than later and we can get home at a decent time!!

Hope everyone gets to thaw out soon! Love y’all!

Jami Bailey

Jami,

So thankful you are all ok…thanks for the clarifications on the details I had wrong…😊

Praying for a safe trip home.

Love,

Gatha

That is so scary Jami!! So glad you guys are all okay! We have so many drivers here who have been on the roads with tons of snow and ice still on their car–drives me crazy!

Prayers they get you guys back on the road soon and no more incidents!

So thankful they’re all okay – Jami told me, “Dad actually told me that I did good!” (Concerning how she did with getting hit and how she maneuvered)

Can’t believe the snow (and ice) some of you have received recently! Please stay safe.

Kelly will be receiving her LAST chemo treatment on Friday!!!!!! Then after imaging, decisions will be made concerning surgery.

Eric and Cole are going to visit Phil, Kelly, and Kenlee this weekend for a quick visit! Cole turns 16 on Wednesday the 4th! I can’t believe how this has happened so quickly

Love you all

Deanna

Grateful for safe travels! Praying for Kelly’s final treatment and great scans to come!!!

I turned the dripping sinks off when I got home from work today, hopefully nothing will freeze.

Love you all!

Becky

Jami, Adam and Patrick, Praise the Lord and thank you for the army of angels. I think Jesus took the wheel.  Sorry for the frustration. Praying for repaired pipes and the rise in temps for everyone. We had to turn on our furnace and I did drip outside faucets. 23 degrees here Sunday morning before church.  All my plants are asking why they weren’t planted in the warm ground instead of frozen pots. The bird of paradise doesn’t get what all the rest are complaining about.

Praying for Kelly-her last treatment and excellent test results, Courtney’s continued healing and treatment plan, Janolyn relief of pain.

Stetson rebuilt its carillon, Hulley Tower, after being damaged in the 2004 hurricane and has 52 bells being dedicated this Saturday. The choir will be singing Handel’s

“Hallelujah Chorus” and the school’s

Alma Mater!  The base is a mausoleum and will once again be housing the ashes of the original benefactors that will be brought by horse drawn carriage. There’s also inscriptions on the bells for the 3 students that lost their lives in the Innsbruck avalanche in 1979 while studying abroad. (The original bells were cast in Innsbruck)It’s a long awaited day for Deland as they missed hearing the bells every day.  Can’t wait to hear them ring.

Have a warmer blessed day and share your joy.

Love,

PJ
