Good Morning from Hot NC.

Summer is here….temps in the 90’s and don’t mention heat index

We had a nice week at the beach – weather was nice – no rain.  It was an eventful week.

  • A baby hammer head shark fell from the sky at a disk golf area in north Mrytle Beach(45 minutes from us) – normally I would say a bird dropped it, but possibly a drone?  Who knows
  • An 8-foot alligator washed ashore on our beach at 10th street.  We are at 3rd street, so we did not see all the activity
  • A man had a heart attack near the pier and a fellow beach goer did CPR and saved his life- missed that action as well
  • A family of 4 set out April 2022 from California on horseback to ride across the US and they arrived at our beach Wednesday night….a huge crowd showed up for that.
  • Jessica and girls saw a wedding on the beach at sunset Saturday night
  • I managed to read 2 books and finish a puzzle
  • But…..We did not see the Great White Shark that is making it’s way north up the Atlantic coast.

Have a blessed week,

Love,

Wow! You had a lot happening at your beach! So glad the weather was nice for you! Is everyone feeling better?

We’re down at table rock with Brady and Dani’s family until Friday (not Lilly, as she’s working). It’s supposed to be hot all week! We will be in the water!
Love,

It was interesting to say the least.  Hailey had a few rough days, She Went to urgent care when we got home Sunday and has an ear infection.  Should be feeling better now that she has meds. We had a variety of coughs going on but we were feeling better.  Jessica is still avoiding it.

Beautiful picture Hailey! Needs to be framed for sure.
Good morning from Basehor!

We have had a few hot days here, however the winds were sustained at 40 miles per hour here and at the lake!
We were just very tired of the wind beating us all weekend at the lake. We could not put the boat in the lake. There were white caps that reminded me of the ocean, but not as pretty. It was a nice relaxing few days. Cooking outside with a flame was impossible, so plan b electric skillets and crock pots came in handy. The wind kept blowing out the blackstone, as soon as it got lit. So it was a challenge converting to how to cook breakfast and dinners. We were not even hot although the temps were in the 90’s, Mother Nature provided us with free air breezes that were more powerful than any fan! We played corn hole games and visited, which was a nice change of pace. Visiting was problematic with the wind conditions. You had to be facing the right direction. If you got up out of your camping chair, you had to chase it. It was not dull for sure.
Glad to be home! However I guess my out door flower pots which are heavy when wet, kept blowing over. My neighbor finally put them in the garage. The wind was so strong that after they were watered the wind dried them out fast. I am blessed with some good neighbors.
After I got home Sunday I spent an hour watering and picking up trash from the building site across the street.
Hope you all have a Blessed week. God Bless our country and our president!
Love, prayers and big hugs!
Michaela
