Good Morning from soggy NC.

We had a week of rain and temps in the 70’s last week.  It was Saturday before Dean could do the major mowing and there were soggy spots…he only got stuck once.

It’s count down week for Hailey before college move in on Friday.  Aitana ( their previous Spain foreign exchange student) is flying in Tuesday to visit for a few days before joining her parents in NY.  It will be fun to see her again and a busy week for sure.

Last week, Friday marked 37 years ago that we rolled into Charlotte (8-8-88)… so much has changed in those 37 years.  When we moved here the population of Charlotte was 388,081, now the Charlotte population is 935,017.  Now the Charlotte Metro Area – as growth has pushed out to surrounding smaller towns and connecting counties – has a population of 2,367,000 and growing rapidly every day.  Approximately 117 people move the Charlotte area each day.

Have a blessed week.

Love,

Gatha

Wow, that’s a lot of growth. I checked Gallatin. When we moved here in 1982, 17,500 in 2024 52,500. Our little town has seen a lot of change too.
We were watching a show on PBS the other day and it had the ribbon cutting of Interstate 40 in some sections , can’t remember, but the year was 1960.
Time is a flying!!
Have a great weekend everybody.

Deland’s population when we moved here in 2016 was 31.5K and today it’s 45.5K. We’re growing faster than the beach towns. I wonder how they count the college students?  I know our community has no shortage of move ins.  Met another Embry Riddle student, retired Navy from Virginia. Didn’t get his name but his dog’s name is Braxton. 🤭.

Copper is the official welcome committee for all new dogs!

We made several trips to Orlando Medical Center. Dennis saw her in the ER and it seemed like nothing too major. Since she’s been in ICU we’re more concerned. They’re hoping to get a feeding tube in with the help of radiology as the other attempts have all failed. She’s very restless and the neck brace seems to be uncomfortable. She hasn’t been able to verbalize since the ER. A cough has developed!  Keep the prayers coming. Pray for Janelle as she juggles her job in Colorado and being her to take care of her mom and Katie and her husband Jonathan that feel so bad that it happened at their home and their little ones Madelin-3 and Nico-4 were there when it happened. They think of Tee-Tee as their grandmother.

Thank you for all the birthday wishes and blessings. I’ve been eating my way through the last few days. One more birthday lunch with Lori, my neighbor from Regency. Her birthday is August 8!

Love you all. Be careful.

Good morning from partly cloudy Basehor KS!

Gatha I remember the day you moved from Lenexa, like it was yesterday!  Yes a lot of life has been lived since then! Our families have surly been Blessed! 100 plus living  decedents from Mom and Dad and still growing.

Another nice weekend at the lake glamping is in the books! It was a little humid, but when you’re at the lake it’s ok! We watched the chiefs preseason game with the camping buddies, Saturday night, after a day on the lake. Woke up to rain storms Sunday morning. Nothing more difficult than putting away camping stuff when it’s all wet!
This week I will have Jullian Tuesday, take him to his 9 month checkup with Allysa on Wednesday and have him part of Thursday. Busy week! He is a busy little boy! Crawls everywhere!
Allysa has finally gotten another car, she has been without one since first part of May. She will get it this week sometime. I am excited for her. She is still living with Stephanie and Jeremy. Praise God for answered prayers.
Court dates for her X are this week! Praying for God’s  will on this one. Not my will be done?

Hope you have a Blessed Week! Prayers for everyone! Love and Big Hugs!

Take no thought for tomorrow. Matthew 6:34

lol, Murrayfield has seen a decrease in population.  4 empty homes where neighbors previously lived, one house built in the past 40 years.  (It may as well be empty as no one ever sees the resident!).  We have 3 neighbors on our little road, wouldn’t trade it for anything!   We did not get any rain last week, got some this morning, but not enough.  Doubt my rain barrel filled up much.  Jo, my little hen has at least one chick- we’ve left her 5 eggs since she has been roosting.  Can’t tell if there are others yet.  She lives up to her name and is feisty!  So I’m not poking around her.  Nick wears gloves to gather the other eggs from under her.  He is off to the dentist today, he felt his bridge moving.  Ugh, after implants one would think that shouldn’t happen.  Hoping it is simple.  Praying for those who need healing- (I think we all qualify in someway!🤣.   Have a blessed week- love Yaya
