Good Morning from NC.

Today is the 36th anniversary of when Hurricane Hugo blew into the Charlotte area and then this Saturday Sept. 27 is the 1-year anniversary of when Hurricane Helene hit the mountains of North Carolina.

It was a quiet week until Thursday night when Hailey called to say her campus was in lockdown.  A report was made of a possible gunman on campus.  Hailey and her roommate were locked down in the dining hall, which is all windows, so they had a Birdseye view of the hundreds of police that were there to secure the campus.  After 3.5 hours the all clear was given and it was determined to be a false alarm.  All classes were canceled for Friday, so she drove home to decompress from that experience.  So thankful that there no one was hurt, but so sad that the students were put through that.  She drove back to school Sunday evening.

Looking forward to less drama this week.

Have a blessed week,

Love,

Gatha

John 16:33 – “I have said these things to you, that in me (Jesus) you may have peace.  In the world you will have tribulation.  But take heart; I have overcome the world”

Good morning from Basehor Kansas!

It’s a foggy morning. Any moisture is welcome.

Busy week last week, we got home Tuesday. I had appointment for sprinkler man, Tim’s birthday dinner, Diane’s entombment, Jami’s Legacy group bar b que, Diane’s celebration of life Saturday, babysat the neighbors 11/2 year old Saturday evening, then Dyanna Ballou’s retirement party. Then Chiefs game.
This week is just as busy!
MRI today, I need to mow, mark sprinkler heads, babysitting 2 days getting the lawn airiated seeded, oil changed, meet with financial people, leave for Nashville on Friday for Katie’s baby shower.
Per usual never dull!
Thank you for all your prayers for this difficult time. Diane is in a much better place. Her boys will have to move on. I will miss her but glad she is home in heaven. She was a saint on earth.

Hope you all have a Blessed week, love, prayers and Big Hugs!
