Good Morning from cold NC (22 degrees this am),

Last week busy with that final attempt to get ready for Christmas.

Tuesday night we went to Mackenzie’s band concert.  I’m amazed at the amount of talent they have at their school.   All “5 feet” of Mackenzie was on the back row , moving back and forth playing 3 percussion instruments, so we only got a few glances of her.

Mark, Rachel, and the boys squeezed in a trip to KC to go to the Chiefs game and as many of the highlights like Plaza Lights, Crown Center, Union Station, etc. before flying home on Sunday.  They had a great time.  It was the first time Rachel, and the boys had been to KC, and they really enjoyed it.

Sunday afternoon the girls and I did our annual decorating Grandma Jones’s sugar cookies.  Hailey is the pro, and Jessica is right behind her…the rest of us are just have fun and eating cookies along the way.

Gifts are wrapped and today is finish up baking day.

Have a blessed week and wonderful Christmas.

Love,

Gatha

Good morning from 47 degrees in Kansas!

It’s still cold. So cold the Canadian geese have taken up residence on the lake across the street! They had fun breaking the thin layer of ice on the lake so they could swim. It was quite a sight!
Busy week last week. I spent Monday baking all the Christmas goodies. I did not bake Sugar cookies for the first time I can remember! But there are enough other treats to go around.
Tuesday I wrapped presents it was another all day into the night job. I had to find all the gifts I have been buying and hiding all summer all fall. I hid them good!
I spent one day with Diane. I took her out for lunch. She likes McDonald’s. It is a treat for her to get out. She did great. I stopped off at Tim and Lisa’s to drop off presents for Christmas Day. I got to eat dinner with them.
Friday I had about 14 inches of insulation put in the attic and added some baffles to go up the roof from vents under eaves to the roof line vent to funnel hot and cold air out of garage instead of going to other parts of attic over the house. What I did not know is that it would make me sneeze, nonstop! My nose ran eyes ran! What a mess! It dawned on me what was causing it! Took antihistamines!
Sauturday we were invited to Lisa’s cousins house for chiefs game and dinner and uncle Genes home made egg nog. I was the DD which was fine with me. They live in Brookside in a beautiful home. We had a great time. Lisa’s aunt Kitsy and Uncle Tom was there as well. We all took snacks to munch on for game then dinner was later. Got home around 10:30.
Sunday I got the dog Trooper to dog sit for the holidays. Went to visit Pat and Deanna. She was doing well. We chatted most of the afternoon away! Their home is decorated so beautifully for Christmas!
Today I need to clean house to get ready for kids tomorrow. Get turkey and ham ready and any other stuff I can prepare in advance! Christmas Eve will be here for Stephanie’s and Tim’s families. 11 total plus baby this year.
Christmas Day at Tim’s house will have to sleep fast and open presents fast in time to watch Chiefs game at noon. Then dinner at Tim’s.
In between feeding and walking the dog!
Love, prayers and Big Hugs!
Merry Christmas to everyone!
Michaela
