Happy National Popcorn Day:

Happy Birthday:  Lisa Ballou Jan 19 / Isaiah Jan 21 / Gatha Jan 22

Prayer:  Kelly / Courtney- treatment going forward / Marla continued healing / Charlie general health

Good morning from chilly NC

We’ve had a week of very chilly weather, so no early morning walks outside.

Friday morning was 16 degrees. The light in our tankless water heater went out so no hot water.  Dean was able to heat it back up and we were up and running with hot water.

Friday, Brian, and Mackenzie took advantage of recent snow in the mountains and her time off from school and went snowing skiing in West Virginia (3 hours away).

Sunday, we celebrated Mackenzie’s birthday with the traditional meal at Mellow Mushroom after church.

Watched football this weekend… since both of our teams are out of the running, we will be rooting for the Patriots because their quarter back is a local young man from Charlotte.

Have a blessed week,

Love,

Gatha

Good afternoon everyone! It’s a balmy 16 degrees right now in Bashor!

Good news. I have finally gotten all the Christmas decorations down and put away. I just need to put a couple more shelves together to get the rest off the floor.

Last week I spent 3 days helping a friend put hers away and redecorate her home. I took a lot of what she had as far as silk arrangements apart and recreated them to match her new home. We only made trips to Michael’s , Hobby Lobby, and @Home. Job well done. She came over Friday and helped me with the Christmas Village, Santa’s and rec room tree! It was nice having help. Now all I have to do is get the shelves downstairs to build them.

Saturday, Tim had a birthday party for Lisa at a bowling alley. All our camping buddies and others were there. I can’t remember the last time I bowled! Had to of been 30 years or more. It was great fun. Although my shoulder reminded me of how much fun I had that night!! I even used a 9 pound ball!

Yesterday I stayed home and made a pot of navy bean soup with corn bread. Of course that means I have a lot of leftovers!

The football games were pretty interesting this weekend.

This week I have a dentist appointment I need another crown, like Uck! Tuesday’s Bible Study and start gathering up income tax information! Hopefully I can stay in and get things done around here.

Love, prayers and big hugs!

Michaela

The joy of the Lord is my Strength Nehemiah 8:10

Snow skiing sounds like fun!  A great way to celebrate a 17th!  Kala, you certainly decorate beautifully and completely. Where is that little sink?  I’m assuming the fireplace tv stand is in the basement?

We had our membership Sunday at church yesterday with a potluck after.  I’ve noticed as people get older their patience and flexibility evaporated.  Great lesson for me to keep my mouth shut and not suggest an easier way to do things. Work smarter not harder. But if others like to work harder let them. Dealing with a lot of personalities at church as our congregation grows and they all seem to be chiefs not Indians. They frustrate those of us(Schleicher’s)that know everything but a good lesson holding my tongue and smiling. I made the mistake of bringing cinnamon rolls (Rhodes) and hurt someone’s feelings that also brought cinnamon rolls because they ate all mine and not theirs.

But-we’re busting at the seams with new members. Praise the Lord.

Watched football and am frustrated with what seems to be riggeration!  Hank is rolling in his grave. I watched the John Elway documentary.  We never realize what a 20 something year old goes through mentally trying to be perfect.

Emily traveled to Palm Beach in CA for a bachelorette party and had drill the weekend before. Stevie is getting plenty of daddy time and Grandma Lisa and Grandpa Jim time. She’ll be one soon. Birthday party the Saturday before Palm Sunday. We’re heading to Nashville!

Madeline started with a new collision repair shop near her home up in Ball Ground. They found out about her and offered her a job. She won’t have to commute over an hour anymore. Praising the Lord for another blessed opportunity.

Isaiah turns one on the 21st. He’s such a happy boy!

Happy MLK day!

Joy and peace-love PJ.
