Cranberry Applesauce

- 24 oz cranberries
- 6 medium apples
- 2½ c water
- 1 c sugar
Wash and soak 24 oz cranberries in 2½ c water. Pour into a medium pot.
Wash and cut 6 medium apples into eighths. Do not peel. Add to the berries.
Cook the apples and berries covered over medium heat until fruit is soft.
Run through and ricer or colander.
Place 1 cup of fruit and 1 c sugar back into the pot. Cook over medium heat until the sauce begins to thicken, stirring as needed to keep from sticking to the bottom of the pot.
Transfer to a container; cover and chill prior to serving.
