Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream

- 1 Ice cream maker
Ingredients
- 6 tbsp corn starch
- 3¼ c sugar
- ⅓ tsp salt
- 6 eggs (beaten)
- 3 c milk
- 1 qt half and half
- 2 qt half and half
- 2 tbsp vanilla
Instructions
- Freeze ice cream bowl at least 24 hours ahead of use.
- Mix 6 tbsp corn starch, ⅓ tsp salt, and 3¼ c sugar together.
- Add 6 eggs, 3 c milk, and1 qt half and half.
- Cook over medium heat until it is like custard (coats spoon). Allow to cool.
- When ready to freeze, add 2 qt half and half and 2 tbsp vanilla. Freeze according to the ice cream mixer directions.
- Remove dasher and pack freezer with ice and salt over can. Cover bowl with newspaper and plastic wrap.
- Let set 1½ to 2 hours.
