We hope that this message finds you well!
As some of you know, Hailey and I have had the good fortune of traveling to Mexico with our church on several mission trips since she was 8 years old. Because of the gift she has received of becoming bilingual as a result of her enrollment in the Spanish Immersion program at Union County Public Schools, these trips have been made all the more special. I will never forget our first trip to the village of La Estrella and watching her translate for us. To be able to use this gift not only in a useful and practical way but by also sharing the love that Jesus freely gives to us all in multiple languages is very impactful.
We are excited for the opportunity to return this summer with a team from our church (Southbrook) as we continue to partner with Pastor Gama and the Message for Mayans Ministry.
Romans 10:13-15 states, “For everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in Him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”
Lord willing, we will be traveling to Mexico from August 1st – 8th. We will be joining the ministry of Message For Mayans in taking the Gospel to nearby villages through various work projects, relational ministry with children, and personal evangelism. The total cost to join this team for Hailey and me is $3,000.00. Anything we raise above $3,000.00 will go directly to the efforts of our other teammates.
As part of our responsibility, I’m beginning to take steps of faith by reaching out to others and inviting them to partner with me. The areas of Gospel partnership that are seen throughout the New Testament are; people to Encourage those who are going, people to Pray for the messengers themselves and for the message to be received, and for people to Send those who are willing to be sent.
