Bourbon BBQ Sauce
Ingredients
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 small onion (minced)
- ½ c bourbon whiskey
- 1 c brown sugar
- ⅓ c apple cider
- ¼ c Worcestershire
- 2 c ketchup
- salt and pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine 2 cloves garlic, 1 small onion, ½ c bourbon whiskey and bring to a simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add 1 c brown sugar, ⅓ c apple cider, ¼ c Worcestershire, 2 c ketchup, salt and pepper to taste and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes, until slightly thickened.
- Place a mesh strainer over a bowl or jar and pour the BBQ sauce through.
