Spiced Apples and Cranberries
Ingredients
- 8 large apples
- 2 c cranberries
- 2½ c sugar
- 3 c water
- 2 cinnamon sticks
Instructions
- Combine 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water in a large pot. Bring to a boil for 5 minutes.
- Add 2 c cranberries and simmer until cranberries pop open. Remove from heat and pour into a large bowl.
- Using the same pot, combine 2 cups water, 1½ cup sugar, and 2 cinnamon sticks. Bring to a boil for 10 minutes.
- Add 8 large apples, peeled and cored and sliced into quarters or large bite-sized pieces. Simmer until tender but not mushy.
- Remove from heat and combine with cranberries, stirring gently until blended.
- Refrigerate and serve cold.
