Mix together apples, cranberries, and sugar in a 8-10 inch Pyrex square or pie pan.
Cover with mixture of oats, brown sugar, and nuts.
Cut pats of butter to dot over the top.
Bake 1 hour at 325 °F, watching to make sure it doesn't get dry.

I like to serve this with brunch as well as a side dish for dinner. It is especially good served with foul! Becky made this the weekend the girls "surprised" her for her baby shower--what a great road trip!
