Extra Light Chocolate Chip Angel Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • ½ c solid shortening
  • ½ c margarine
  • ½ c brown sugar
  • ¾ c white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 c flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cream of tartar
  • 6 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ tsp vanilla

Instructions
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400 °F
  2. In a large bowl, cream together ½ c solid shortening, ½ c margarine, ½ c brown sugar, ¾ c white sugar, 1 egg, and ½ tsp vanilla until smooth.
  3. Beat 6-8 minutes with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
  4. Sift together 2 c flour, 1 tsp baking soda, ½ tsp salt, and 1 tsp cream of tartar.
  5. Add to creamed mixture gradually, stirring until well blended.
  6. Fold in 6 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  7. Drop by the teaspoonful onto a lightly greased cookie sheet.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
